Assessment of Tomato Peels Suitable for Producing Biomethane within the Context of Circular Economy: A GIS-Based Model Analysis

Biomass is seen as one of the most dominant future renewable energy sources. In detail, agro-industrial by-products represent a cheap, renewable, and abundant feedstock useful for several new products, including biochemical, biomaterials, above all biogas, which are taking on an ever-increasing role in Italy. this context, tomato chain was analysed aiming at estimating amount processed related waste production suitable resource producing biofuel frontier within context circular economy. Due importance industry, research aims filling gaps knowledge yield that biomass use those territorial areas where biomethane sector still developing. This aim could be relevant planning sustainable development by reducing both soil consumption dedicated crops GHG emissions coming from logistic supply. The achieved results show localization highly characterized kind biomass. Therefore, it would desirable policies consider availability distribution these biomasses territory.
